FAQs
How long should I expect my flowers to last?
First, it's important to note that vase life varies significantly between different flower varieties. Dahlias, for example, are one of the most requested flowers. We like to say that Dahlias are here for a good time but not a long time. We only expect 3-5 days out of them on average. On the other hand, Lisianthus or Ranunculus can last 12-14 days in a vase.
What happens if I am on vacation and cannot pick up my flowers on a particular pick-up date?
If you are out of town during a pick-up day, we encourage you to spread some joy through flowers by gifting that week’s CSA to a friend or neighbor.
How can I make my flowers last longer?
Start with a clean vase.
Gently strip the leaves off of the stem so no leaves fall below the waterline.
Cut each stem at a 45-degree angle with a clean sharp knife or scissors.
Change the water every 2-3 days.
Don’t be afraid to pull the dead flowers out of the arrangement or pull off bad petals
Keep flowers away from ripening fruit and out of direct sunlight.
How long can my flowers be out of water when I pick them up?
We recommend no longer than 30 minutes in a cool vehicle. If you are going to be out longer I suggest you bring a cup of water for the flowers on the ride home. They will thank you later.
